Scrap Tire Update

Royal Tire prides itself in keeping our customers well informed about our industry environmental issues affecting our communities. To obtain the latest information view the Ontario Tire Stewardship Monthly Newsletters which provide updates on the status of Scrap Tire Management in Ontario.

Royal Tire welcomes an all new Ontario Tire Stewardship Program designed to integrate government, tire manufacturers, distributors, retailers and recyclers into a collection and disposition process of used and scrap tires.

The trucking, mining and aggregate industries have had reuse practises in place for many years by retreading tires as much as safely possible. However, eventually the tire must be disposed of when it can no longer remain in service.

The Ontario Stewardship Program will deal with tires no longer able to remain in service being removed from vehicles and some stockpiles of scrap tires that have accumulated in certain areas of the province.

The official launch date of the Ontario Tire Stewardship Program is scheduled for September 1, 2009.
